GBH charge - man in court

A man has appeared in court accused of attacking another man with a saw in Ripponden.

Paul Collins, 37, of Oldham Road, Rishworth, appeared before Calderdale Magistrates on Wednesday charged with grievous bodily harm.

Collins allegedly attacked Ian Milner, 35, on Rochdale Road, Ripponden, in the early hours of Sunday, July 27.

Mr Milner, who was walking back from the Ripponden Conservative Club towards Ripponden, was left with fractures to his forearms and cuts to his hand as a result of the alleged incident.

Collins has been given conditional bail, with orders not to directly or indirectly contact Ian Milner and to reside at an address in Boothtown.

Chairman of Magistrates John Smith sent the case for trial at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday, August 13.
