A man armed with a knife walked in and demanded cash and made off with what police said was a small amount of money.

The robbery is being linked with the raid at the Med Express chemist shop on Turner Avenue South, Illingworth, Halifax, at 4.30 pm on Friday.

Then, a man with the same description and armed with a knife demanded drugs.

Detective Insp Craig Lord said: “We are looking at them both together - two similar incidents in the same area in two days.”

In both robberies the shop assistants were left shaken but unharmed.

The suspect is white, in his 20s, and spoke with a possible Scottish accent during the first robbery.

“We are appealing for information and we think he will be a local man and somebody will put a name to him,” said Det Insp Lord.
