Stinger used to stop car in Halifax police chase as pair try to run from officers

A police stinger was used to stop a car in Halifax before the driver and passenger tried to run from officers.

West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit were out on patrol in the town.

The car pictured failed to stop for the unit and the stinger was deployed to halt the car in the early hours of this morning.

The driver continued to drive in the damaged car but eventually stopped.

However, both the driver and passenger tried to escape on foot.

Both were tracked down and detained by officers.

The car has now been seized and enquiries are ongoing.
