Suspected drug dealers in Halifax try to flee from police after dumping car

A man who tried to flee from Halifax police officers after abandoning a car in the street has been arrested.

Whilst on patrol in North and East Halifax areas an officer of the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team saw a vehicle travelling at high speed on Cousin Lane on February 10.

The vehicle was stopped but the occupants made off running from the car.

The officer was on his own at the time abd had to make a split second decision on which male to chase.

He chased one of the men on foot and detained him on Forest Crescent.

The detained male was found to have a large amount of individual bags of cannabis bush which were ready for sale.

He was arrested for possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

The vehicle was also seized for forensic examination to identify the other males who made off.
