Taxi driver stopped in Halifax charged with intent to supply drugs

A taxi driver that was stopped in Halifax has been charged with possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

On 28 February 2020, PC Illingworth from the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped a taxi on Shay Lane due to the manner of his driving.

The NPT said that due to community intelligence the taxi was searched and a quantity of pills were located within the taxi resulting in the driver being arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply.

A search of an address linked to the suspect was conducted and thousands of pills were located valued at over £10,000.

A file was prepared for the Crown Prosecution Service who have reviewed the evidence and have made a decision to charge the suspect with three accounts of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs due to there being three different types of pills that were located.
