Teen girl grabbed around throat in street robbery

A teenage girl was grabbed around the throat by two attackers who stole money from her bag during a street robbery in Sowerby Bridge.

Detectives in Calderdale have released images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The 17-year-old victim was attacked at 8.30pm on Wednesday October 26 as she was waiting at a bus stop near a row of shops, between the junction of Station Road and West Street

She was approached by two suspects who asked her the time. One of the men then grabbed the victim around the throat and threatened her. They demanded her property, searched her bag and making off with cash. 

Detective Constable Gordon Little of Calderdale CID said; “This was an incredibly frightening experience for the victim, who was understandably distressed.

“I am certain that someone will be able to identify the people pictured in the CCTV, or who will be able to provide information that can assist us with our ongoing enquiries.” CCTV Suspect 2
