Teenage boys accused of raping girl appear at crown court

Three teenage boys facing allegations of raping a girl under 13 have appeared at Bradford Crown Court.

The youngsters, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, were charged with the offences following a police enquiry which began last year.

The complainant, who also cannot be identified, has alleged that she was raped in the Field Lane estate area of Rastrick on two occasions in July 2013.

The boys aged 14 sat in the dock at court during the hearing. A 13-year-old who is also facing allegations of rape was absent.

During the hearing Judge John Potter, the prosecution and defence solicitors made arrangements for the trial, which is fixed for October 13.

None of the boys entered a plea but a case review is scheduled for Monday between the Crown Prosecution Service and the police, and another hearing has been set for October 9 to make more arrangements.
