The ‘dial a drug’ brothers are sent to prison

TWO brothers who sold drugs to undercover police have been jailed.

Thouqeer Hussain, 20, and Zaheer Hussain, 27, both from West View, off Hopwood Lane, Halifax, sold heroin and cocaine to officers working as part of Operation Irondale.

Bradford Crown Court heard the brothers were part of a drug-ordering service.

Users could call a mobile phone number and place their order and the brothers would deliver the drugs.

Zaheer was the driver while Thouqeer carried out the transactions.

They sold to undercover police eight times between February and March. In total they sold 0.76g of cocaine and 1.81g of heroin. The court heard this had a combined street value of £200.

Thouqeer pleaded guilty to 12 counts of supplying a controlled drug of class A and Zaheer admitted 12 counts of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class A.

Judge John Potter said: “While I accept that your role was smaller than others at the top of the organisation, you were willing to sell drugs to people, which has a knock-on effect on our communities.

“The greatest mitigating factor is your early guilty pleas.

“Had these matters gone to trial, you could have expected to receive 30 months in prison but you will receive credit for your pleas.”

Both men were sentenced to 20 months in prison.
