Three in court over taxi driver knifepoint robbery

Three men have appeared in court over an alleged knifepoint robbery on a taxi driver in Ovenden.

Lee Conners, 28, of Denfield Avenue, Ovenden, Joshua Hoy, 19, of Columbus Street, Halifax, and Kyle Mitchell, 18, of Highcliffe Court, Halifax appeared at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday) facing a charge of robbery.

The charge relates to an incident on Wednesday September 19 where a 42-year-old taxi driver was allegedly robbed of cash and an iPhone 4S at knifepoint at Ovenden Green, Ovenden.

Hoy faced further charges of possession of a kitchen knife in a public place and breach of an anti-social behaviour order.

Hoy and Conners were remanded into custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on Friday September 28.

Mitchell was released on conditional bail to appear at crown court on the same date.
