On July 23 shortly after midnight Calderdale police officers were on proactive patrols in the Park Ward when they saw a vehicle which took evasive action upon spotting the police.

The vehicle was stopped and both occupants searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A large quantity of suspected Class A drugs were found in the vehicle as well as a large amount of money in possession of the occupants.

The men aged 23 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The vehicle was seized.

Park Ward Officer PC 1969 Clough said “Since putting out the message out on July 15 thanking members of the public for their information relating to drug dealing in their areas we have received an increase in intelligence and calls relating to the supply of drugs.

"In the last two weeks we have made a number of arrests in relation to drugs offences with thousands of pounds of Class A drugs and money being seized.

"We will continue to act on this intelligence, we will continue to seize drugs which ruin lives, take money which line the pockets of criminals and take their assets which have been purchased through their criminality.

"Those involved in Organised Crime at all levels are being targeted on a daily basis by Officers on NPT under Operation HINDMEN as well Calderdale’s Precision Team.”
