Two people assaulted after Knaresborough attempted robbery

A man was left with serious facial injuries after two robbers tired to snatch a handbag from a women and assulted two people in Knaresborough.

The man and two women were walking on the pathway that links Stockwell Road and Frogmire Road by the allotments in the early hours of Sunday July 12.

At sometime between 2.10am and 2.30am two men tried to snatch a handbag from one women before assaulting another woman and a man, leaving him with serios injuries.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are now seeking witnesses to the incident. PC Darian Dundas, of Harrogate Police, said: “I am looking for any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time, or saw two men in the vicinity of Stockwell Road or Frogmire Road. Please contact police, as you may have important information that could assist the investigation.”
