Two-year-old boy injured by dog in park

Police in Calderdale are appealing for information to trace the owner of a dog after a two-year-boy was hurt in Elland.

The child was playing in a park between Boxhall Road and Brooksbank Gardens on Sunday September 18 at about 2.50pm when the incident took place.

PC Paul Dilnot, of Calderdale District Police, said: “The small Terrier-type dog was not on a lead and the boy received minor scratches to his face and back.

“Whilst not seriously injured, this incident has clearly been distressing for the boy and his family and I would appeal to anyone else who was in the area who may have any information that would help us trace the owner of the dog to come forward.”

The dog’s owner is described as a white man, approximately 40 years of age, with a bald head, of medium build and was wearing a grey top and blue jeans.
