Update: Man arrested over burglary and assault of Rastrick pensioner

A Huddersfield man is in custody after being arrested in connection with an assault and burglary on in Crowtrees Lane, Rastrick.

The 28-year-old was arrested yesterday in the Huddersfield area.

The incident involved a 70-year-old woman being assaulted during the burglary at 5.15pm.

A man around 6ft tall, and in his early 30s with short black hair, wearing a black canvas jacket was seen hanging around the Crowtrees Lane area on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are conducting enquiries at an address in Skelmanthorpe this morning in connection with the ongoing investigation.
