Update: Man severely injured in Halifax gang mugging is from Sowerby Bridge

A man was beaten and mugged by a gang of males as he walked alone in Sowerby Bridge.

Three men jumped on the 52-year-old Sowerby Bridge male as he walked on Tuel Lane late on Thursday night.

Thieves beat the victim and robbed him of his mobile phone and wallet.

The victim was left with severe facial injuries following the unprovoked attack.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to trace three males they want to speak to in connection with the incident which took place on at the junction with Beech Road.

The men are described as white, early 20’s, wearing hooded tops.

DC Eileen Walsh of Calderdale CID said: “The victim has been left with severe facial injuries following this unprovoked attack.

“Whilst it was late in the evening, it is possible that people have heard, or seen something that may help us bring these offenders to justice.”
