Police have have bailed two women arrested yesterday following the death of a baby boy.
The women, aged 21 and 47, were brought in for questioning and have been released pending further enquiries.
Officers were called to an address in Spring Hall Gardens, Highroad Well, Halifax, around 1 am.
The alarm was raised over concerns for the safety of the baby at the address.
He was taken to hospital and later died.
The women are being held on suspicion of child neglect.
The property was later taped off and police stood guard outside yesterday.
Detective Supt Simon Beldon said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation but following initial inquiries have arrested two women in connection with the death of a baby boy from Halifax.”
He urged anyone with information which could help police inquiries to contact officers.
