Updated: Police concerned as Halifax teen remains missing

Police are appealing for the public’s help to track down a missing Halifax teenager.

Katie Smith (pictured), 13, was last seen at her home in High Lees, Mixenden, at 4.45pm on Tuesday. She was wearing her Brooksbank School Uniform but is thought to have additional clothing with her. There was a possible sighting of her at 10pm on the same day. The person seen was wearing jogging bottoms and a red top.

Katie is known to frequent Halifax town centre, the Mixenden Estate, Elland and Rastrick. She is described as white, 4ft 6ins of a slim build with brown eyes and brown hair.

Detective Inspector Derrick Oldham of the Calderdale Safeguarding Unit, said:

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for Katie’s welfare and I would appeal to Katie or anyone who sees her to get in contact so her family know she is safe and well. If you have any information please contact police on 101.”
