Police have seized suspected weapons after raiding a house in Lee Mount in Halifax.

Officers searched the home on Peabody Street at 1.14am on Saturday and recovered a number of prohibited weapons.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing prohibited weapons.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A man who lives on the street said he and his girlfriend were woken by the sound of several cars pulling up.

He said: “We saw a lot of police. There was a van and three or four police cars.

“The police cordoned the street off at each side, then some went round the back of the house and they burst in at the front.”
