UPDATED: Woman, 45, found dead in Halifax - man released without charge

Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in Halifax.

Officers were called to Wyvern Terrace in Pellon at 9.51am on Wednesday to reports the body of a 45-year-old woman had been found.

Police forensic officers were at the house until Wednesday evening carying out inquiries.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers had been called to the same house earlier that day - at 1.53am - to reports of concerns for safety.

Both occupants from the house then went to hospital.

The spokesman said: “Officers were called again to the property at 9.51am on the same day after the body of a woman was found.

“The woman was one of those involved in the first incident.

“Officers are currently investigating the full circumstances of the incident as inquiries continue.

“A man was also taken to hospital from the scene.”

The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident.

He was released without charge yesterday.

A post mortem was carried out yesterday morning and police say inquiries are continuing.

Neighbours said the people who live at the house were known as Grant Bruce and Pauline Lewis .
They also said the couple had appeared on ITV1’s Jeremy Kyle show about a year ago.
Melanie Ornatowski, 39, said: “It’s awful what’s happened. It’s shocking. We had heard a scream in the middle of the night - at about midnight. “
Alan Rozier, 76, said: “I saw a police car in the morning and then I went out at dinner time and came back and I saw it was still there and there were those scientific officers there. I did wonder what was going on, with all the white suits and everything.
