“We want to warn people about thefts of power tools from vans,” said Det Insp Lord.

“We want people to take their property out of their van at night and put up notices telling thieves that no power tools are on board.

“We’re also asking people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”

Det Lord, who said power tools were being stolen to be sold on, confirmed police are making enquiries into the two incidents in Boothtown.

Anyone with information about those incidents or anyone with information about power tool thefts should call the police via 101.
