Witness appeal following suspected assault

Police area appealing for information after a man was the victim of a suspected assaulted in Halifax in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The 20-year-old victim left Liquid nightclub alone at about 3.30am on January 1.

The next thing he remembered was waking up in Prescott Street at about 7.30am.

Detective Constable Craig Aubrey, of Calderdale CID, said: “He recalls people around him and being in pain and believes he was assaulted. He later received treatment at hospital for facial injuries which include two breaks to his jaw and missing teeth. His clothing was ripped which also suggests his injuries were the result of an assault.

“The injuries he has received are very serious and I would like to hear from anyone who saw anything during that time frame or who has any information that can assist the investigation.”
