Witness appeal over alleged Halifax attack by man prior to police officer 'choke' arrest

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an allegation of assault on a man and an emergency worker in Halifax.

The incident happened at around 3pm on August 16 in Spring Hall Gardens, when, it is alleged, a man in his 30s was attacked.

He was not injured during the incident.

A man was arrested on suspicion of assault and assault on an emergency worker.

He was released under investigation in relation to both allegations.

The nature of the arrest is currently being investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

This appeal is for any witnesses to what happened prior to the arrest.
