Woman with Harrogate family connections beheaded in Cambridgeshire

A female scientist, with family connections to Harrogate, has been found beheaded in her Cambridgeshire home.

Samantha Ho, who is believed to originally be from Harrogate, was discovered after armed officers forced their way into her St Neots home on Saturday.

Officers found the 39-year-old’s body and head separately in her home on Curlew Place, and her partner Timothy Allen, 40, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Allen appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where he was remanded in custody, and will appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday charged with murder.

A post mortem examination conducted on Monday, August 31, at Peterborough City Hospital concluded that she died from multiple cuts to the neck.

The death is being treated as an isolated incident and no one else is being sought in connection.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “The death is being treated as an isolated incident and no one else is being sought in connection.

“Officers are in contact with the victim’s family and they are being kept up to date on the inquiry.

“There will also be extra police patrols in the area as inquiries at the property continue.”

Allen, of Curlew Place, St Neots, was taken to hospital following Ms Ho’s murder with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Ms Ho had worked as a scientist for a bio-science company called Asterand since 2005.
