Woman has jewellery and handbag stolen in street

Calderdale Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left badly shaken after being robbed in Shelf.

At 2.30am on Monday December 29, the woman was walking along West Street and approached the junction of Cock Hill Lane.

As she did so a man appeared and demanded she hand over property.

She then gave him jewellery and her handbag and the man then made off up Cock Hill Lane.

A man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is 5’6” tall and believed to be in his mid 20s.

He spoke with a local accent and is thought to be white although was wearing a face covering at the time.

DC Louise Halliwell of Calderdale CID, said: “I would appeal for any witnesses to this incident to get in contact. The victim was not injured but was left badly shaken as a result.”
