A woman was robbed moments after parking her car in Halifax.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened in Wellington Street West at 2.45pm on Thursday, October 16 .

The 24-year-old victim was walking away having just parked up her vehicle when a man approached her and demanded money from her.

She handed over a small amount of cash before the man ran away down Wellington Street West and on to South Street.

The man is described as white, aged in his mid to late 30s, of skinny build, around 5 ft 7 ins tall, with pock marked cheeks and blondish brown, scruffy hair which was shorter at the back and sides. He was wearing a white top with green stripes down the sleeves, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Constable Andrew Slater, of Calderdale CID, said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed this robbery or saw a man matching the suspect’s description in the area around this time to call Calderdale CID on 101.”
