Youths flee from car as Halifax police crack down on dangerous and anti-social drivers

Police Teams have been patrolling North and East Halifax due to numerous reports of vehicles being driven in a dangerous and/or anti-social manner.

On Thursday January 21 officers were on patrol in the Illingworth area when they were dispatched to a vehicle driving dangerously on Keighley Close.

As they arrived four youths were seen running off into the distance.

The vehicle, though to be a pool car was seized.

On Friday January 22 officers were patrolling the Lee Mount area following reports of anti-Social behaviour when a Black Audi A3 caught their attention due to the manner of driving.

The Audi failed to stop for officers around the Lee Mount area before it was lost from view and the pursuit was called off. Enquires are ongoing to identify the driver.

On the same date, a motorbike displaying no number plates was sighted on Keighley Road towards Illingworth.

Due to the bike not displaying a number plate attempts were made to stop the bike.

The bike failed to stop and was pursued through Illingworth and into Mixenden where the vehicle was lost after it went off road.

The police vehicles dash cams are being reviewed to try identify the rider.

A spokesperson for the Halifax Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Anti-social and dangerous driving is a Ward Priority in the North and East area of Halifax and the Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to proactively patrol areas of concerns and respond to calls of dangerous driving."
