Cute Kids 2014: The winner

Judges have chosen Sofia Alexina Spalding as the 2014 champion.

She will win a Family Annual pass for 2015 to Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire.

Eight-month-old Sofia was six months old when her picture was taken.

“We just entered for a bit of fun, we thought it would be quite nice to do,” said mum Emma, 36, from Knaresborough.

“She’s a beautiful baby and me and my husband Rob just love her to bits, as any parent does.

“But it was a lovely surprise and very exciting to get that phone call to say we’d won.”

Sofia has a half brother, Daniel, aged nine-and-a-half, and Mrs Spalding says he will certainly be enjoying the prize - a family annual pass for 2015 to Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire.

“Sofia’s a very contented and happy baby, right from waking up in the morning to when she goes to bed,” she said.

“She was born with a full head of hair and everybody always comment on how much hair she has - and how smiley she is.

“She was quite happy having her picture taken!

“Thank you to everybody who voted for her to help us win.”

Pictures of the finalists were printed in the Harrogate Advertiser, Knaresborough Post, Nidderdale Herald, Ripon Gazette and Wetherby News.

Readers cast their votes and Sofia was chosen as the winner.

Runner-up was Daniel Weber.

The person who entered him was Jayne Tremble.

He will win a Family Day pass for 2015 to Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire.
