Miss Steven’s school at Wakefield Road, Lightcliffe, welcomed many dancers through its doors. Now Charlotte, 34, hopes she can gather as many pupils as possible to make the gala performance as special as possible.

She said: “I thought it would be a lovely idea, It’s to celebrate her, celebrate her life and the devotion she has given.

“Miss Stevens gave me my career, she gave me the tools I needed to live and breath my dream of being a ballerina. I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I was if it hadn’t been for her training, guidance and love, but I am simply a drop in the ocean to the many lives she touched over the years.” The show, named ‘To You I Dance’, will be held at the Alhambra on Sunday, November 29.

Charlotte added: “The Alhambra is where Miss Stevens held her shows, so it’s quite an important place for her and her former pupils.
