dancers gathered at dawn to celebrate May Day.
Ten members of Ryburn Longsword continued the centuries-old English folk tradition of dancing as the sun rises on the first day of the month.
Pauline Jones, of the group, said: “For the last two to three years we haven’t been able to do it because the weather has been so bad.
“But it was absolutely beautiful. It was cold, but as the sun rose it was clear as a bell,” she said.
“It’s a lovely way to start May.”
