Dancing night away for cha cha-charity

Held at Square Chapel on Sunday, the event raised a fantastic £5,500 for the charity as seven couples battled it out on the dancefloor, with dances including the Jive, Lindy, Paso, Rumba, Salsa and Samba.

The evening started with a musical performance by Michael Buble tribute act, Nearly Buble, and the dancers thrilled with a group performance.

But only one couple could win and James Link and Heather Morris took the coveted glitter ball home after delivering a stellar dance to ‘Somebody Told Me’ by The Killers.

The event was hosted by Bernadette Gledhill of Morton Gledhill Fashion and judged by Bazz of Bazzmatazz Dance Studio, Claire O’Connor, of Baby Ballet, and Halifax pantomime star Neil Hurst.

Lynda Gianotti, Calderdale branch chair said “What a wonderful, feel good, community event, I can’t thank the dancers enough, their blood, sweat and tears make the evening so special coupled with Bernadette our amazing host, and the characterful judges.”

She also thanked dance teachers Helen O’Hara, Dance in Elegance and Emma from Tristan School of Dance and event sponsor, Caravan Guard.
