Day seven for group of cyclists

The seven cyclists riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats are setting off from Carlisle this morning (Thursday).

The cyclists are starting day seven of their ten day ride to raise money to fund 25 apprenticeships in Calderdale.

The team will cycle 98.6 miles today from Carlisle to Cumbernauld.

Steve Duncan, chief executive of Community Foundation for Calderdale, tweeted: “Exhausted, full of cold and all parts of anatomy are sore. But still enjoying it.”

The group who ventured through Calderdale on Tuesday have already raised £105,000 but people can still donate by visiting www.cycleforwork.co.uk
