CLASSIC film-turned-stage-show Dirty Dancing is set to explode into Yorkshire.

As the iconic love story of Baby and Johnny celebrates its 25th year, the West End production opens at Leeds Grand Theatre.

Paul-Michael Jones, who plays the lead role of Johnny, said: “It’s the first time I’ve played Leeds Grand Theatre

“My family are from the area though and I understand the Yorkshire audiences enjoy a good night out so I have no doubt that will be great fun!

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

Written by Eleanor Bergstein, script writer and creator of the film, the show features all the much-loved characters and original dialogue.

The brand new choreography and dance sequences are set to the hits from the film’s soundtrack including ‘Do You Love Me?’, ‘Hungry Eyes’ and the Academy Award Winning ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’. With more songs that weren’t on the original recording and extra scenes added Dirty Dancing on stage promises to a unique live experience.

Dirty Dancing is at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday May 29th to Saturday 23rd June.

Tickets are still available and are priced from £15 to £48.50.
