Police in Halifax are appealing for information after a distinctive musical instrument was stolen from a vehicle in a town centre car park last week.

The vehicle was parked in the Sainsbury’s Car Park, off Wade Street on Tuesday afternoon, when entry was forced to the white Mercedes Sprinter van between 2pm and 2.15pm

A number of items were stolen, including a distinctive brown Warmoth electric guitar (pictured), a laptop, bag and accessories, a Dunlop guitar crybaby pedal, a white Boss guitar tuner and a guitar pedal board.

Police Community Support Officer Lee Knapton said; “I would appeal to anyone who may have been using the car park on the afternoon of Tuesday who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously, or who may have seen someone entering a vehicle matching the description of the victims van to come forward. It is possible they may not have realised what they witnessed.

I would also appeal to anyone who may have been invited to buy, or seen for sale the guitar pictured. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone who has any information should contact PCSO Knapton via 101, quoting 13160542664. Information can also be passed to the independent anonymous crime fighting charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
