A young dog which had its legs tied together has been pulled from Ringstone reservoir in Ripponden.
RSPCA officers were called to a Calderdale Council depot on Tuesday after the dead animal had been discovered.
Inspector Charlotte Booker said the dog looked to be a male bull breed type with a docked tail.
“It’s quite hard to identify him at the minute, there is a possibility he could be a rottweiler as his tail is docked and you don’t see too many bull breeds with docked tails.
“It has lost all its fur from being in the water but black fur can be seen on patches of its body.
“He appears to have been neutered and is wearing a black leather collar. No microchip was found.”
