Youngsters learnt all about the sky when the Star Dome mobile planetarium visited their school.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children at West Vale Primary School were able to follow a big bear across the night sky while Year 3 and Year 4 children heard Ancient Greek myths and legends.
Pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 were taught about day and night, the earth and beyond.
Rachel Kemp, head teacher, said: “The children were so excited about entering the dome and then they were entranced with the movement of the night sky.”
Meanwhile the school’s pupils have also been learning about food for British Food Fortnight.
One class visited an allotment where they gathered vegetables and used them to make soup, another class made shepherds pie and another made biscuits.
