A HEAD TEACHER is warning her students not to walk home alone after a young woman was approached near a school.
Liz Cresswell, head at Brighouse High, said she was told a man had been acting suspiciously in the area and issued a plea for parents to take extra care and ensure their children have a safe way to get to and from school.
Police say they received a report that a man -– aged between 50 and 60 – followed an 18-year-old woman from a bus stop in Halifax Road at 11.23am on Thursday, engaged her in conversation and grabbed her shoulder before she walked away. She was not injured.
Mrs Cresswell said: “Pupils and parents have been asked to be extra vigilant and to inform school or the police if they see anything suspicious.”
The man was described as white, with thin brown hair.
