Double weekend rescue for team

It was a busy Saturday (January 25) for Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team who were called out to two incidents in as many hours.

The first call out was to assist a male walker near Stoodley Pike, Todmorden, who had injured his ankle and required assistance off the hill.

The second was to assist an injured female farmer near Todmorden who had slipped in the fields whilst out feeding her sheep and sustained a lower leg injury.

With rescue team volunteers working together with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, the lady was made comfortable on-scene and then air lifted by to hospital for further treatment.

On Sunday, the team was out training , whilst also taking time out to do some filming for the BBC’s Helicopter Heroes series.
