E-fit image released over Leeds taxi serious sexual assault

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace in connection with a serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, September 21, last year but was only reported to officers in December.

The 22-year-old victim had been drinking in Leeds when she got into a taxi to take her to her home in the Kirkstall Road area. The driver took her to an unknown secluded location where he subjected her to a serious sexual assault.

The victim managed to get free from the car and ran home.

The suspect is described as Asian, aged in his fifties and well built. He was wearing a long white Kurta Pajama and a white cap.

Detective Constable Clare Fisher, of Leeds District CID, said: “Although some time has passed since the incident, the description of the offender together with the e-fit is very distinctive and we would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may know who the suspect is.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4159 Fisher at Elland Road via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
