Children’s author Tom Palmer, who created the Armistice Runner and Foul Play books, inspired pupils at three East Leeds primary schools as they celebrate their book week.

He is pictured at Grange Farm Primary School in Seacroft, where pupils from sister school White Laith Primary joined the fun.

The author, who lies in Halifax, visited three Leeds East Primary Partnership Schools this week, attended by pupils from five of the partnership’s schools, which are celebrating all-things reading with library visits, storytelling workshops and book competitions.

Grange Farm Primary School headteacher Jo Geary said: “Tom provided inspiration during our book week for the reading work we have been involved in across the five schools.”
