Fundraising runs are being held to raise money for 11 Calderdale schools in the Bolton Brow Burner.

On June 1, dedicated men, women and children will take part in a 2.5k family fun run and a 10k run.

The family fun run will leave from St Patrick’s church at 10am and the 10k run will depart from Sowerby Bridge’s Navigation Pub, Chapel Lane, at 11.30am.

Registration is open to everyone, on the day, at Bolton Brow Academy nursery annexe from 9am and closes 15 minutes prior to the start of each race.

Upon completion, all participants will receive a medal, a cup of tea and a bun before enjoying the rest of the fun of the day with stalls being ran by various schools and a bouncy castle, face painting and refreshments.

T-shirts with the names of each school benefitting from funds raised on the day will be on sale.

Each school is putting together a hamper based on gardening, sweets, pamper, an adults drinks, chocolate plus others. If anyone would like to donate a prize it would be appreciated and can contact Gail Oldroyd on 07970 789 355 to find out more about donations, registration and the cost to take part.
