Calderdale College has once again been named as the number one college in West Yorkshire for 16-18 student achievement, according to data for the 2017/18 academic year.

The college ranks in the top six per cent of colleges in the country, recording a 100 per cent pass rate across over 100 qualifications studied by students aged 16-18.

The majority of students scored notably high grades, with a large proportion studying level three courses exceeding their targets set at the start of the academic year.

The college’s new Level three interactive media course, which is equivalent to an A-level, performed significantly well in its first year with 90 per cent of students achieving distinction grades and 60 per cent of those receiving triple distinctions – a 100 per cent increase on last year.

On the level three National Diploma in computer systems, eight out of 10 students achieved one or more distinction grades.

The level three health and social care programme also scored highly with 80 per cent of students receiving grades A*-B.
