Calderdale College secures number one ranking in West Yorkshire

Calderdale College has once again been named as the number one college in West Yorkshire for 16-18 student achievement, according to data for the 2017/18 academic year.

The college ranks in the top six per cent of colleges in the country, recording a 100 per cent pass rate across over 100 qualifications studied by students aged 16-18.

Students shine at Calderdale College's annual Star AwardsThe majority of students scored notably high grades, with a large proportion studying level three courses exceeding their targets set at the start of the academic year.

The college’s new Level three interactive media course, which is equivalent to an A-level, performed significantly well in its first year with 90 per cent of students achieving distinction grades and 60 per cent of those receiving triple distinctions – a 100 per cent increase on last year.

The level three health and social care programme also scored highly with 80 per cent of students receiving grades A*-B.
