An Education Festival will take place from Monday, July 2 - 13, with a wide range of activities in Calderdale schools and colleges.
The focus will be on excellence and progress.
According to the organisers, Calderdale Council is one of the best education authorities in the country and wants to celebrate this year throughout the area.
The fesitval’s opening will be held at Heath Training Centre, Halifax, with the Park Lane Learning Trust Steel Band and a regional signing choir.
Also taking part will be Parkinson Lane and Dean Field Community Primary Schools, in Halifax.
The festival is supported by the Courier which has been working with primary and secondary schools as well as Calderdale College.
On Friday, July 13, there will be an event at the college with art exhibitions and presentations by students and pupils from Savile Park Primary and Ravenscliffe High Schools.
During the fortnight, there will be arts events, activitites for parents, sports days, family learning activities and input from nursery, primary, secondary and college organisations.
