Changes at Calder High’s helm

Mark Leicester is returning to his roots to take up the position of interim headteacher at Calder High School, Mytholmroyd.

Jeanne Watson has become the school’s executive headteacher.

Mr Leicester is the deputy head at Brooksbank School, Elland.

He began his teaching career at the Mytholmroyd school and spent 14 years there.

Both have been appointed in order to improve Calder High, which received a critical Ofsted report earlier this year.

The new leadership arrangements have been put in place for the autumn term as a result of the continued absence of Calder High School’s headteacher Carol Spillane, who is unable to take up her position due to ill health.
