Children from a Halifax school experienced a taste of the Mediterranean by celebrating a Greek day.
Key stage two pupils from Bowling Green Primary School in Stainland marked the end of their half-term studying the history of ancient Greece with a special day of workshops. Lessons were based around the themes of traditional Greek music, dancing, food and costume. Headteacher Anne Walker said: “All the children made a great effort and had a go at everything. Lots discovered that they now like olives, and we had some very enthusiastic dancing to ‘Zorba the Greek! We wanted to make it as real and authentic as possible, and the children absolutely loved every minute of it.”
