A Halifax primary school has officially opened its new site which will create extra school places in the area.
Savile Park Primary School unveiled its new building, Savile Park at Heath, last month with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Halifax MP Holly Lynch.
The new site was created in response to the need for extra school places in the area following a rise in the birth rate.
The school had the capacity to meet the need and rose to the challenge of increasing its numbers on roll on an extra site. The 140-year-old, listed building has undergone a complete transformation and while many of the original features have been retained, the classrooms are state of the art.
Two classes of children started in September and the school hopes to buidl on this year on year.
Headteacher Karen Lomas said: “Our vision has become a reality and we are delighted to be able to provide an outstanding education for the local community.”
Families interested in sending their children to the school are invited to two open days on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27.
