Students, families and school staff all came together to celebrate the hard work and achievement at North Halifax Grammar School.
The annual event sees all year groups come together to show their appreciation of everyone’s commitment and dedication throughout the previous school year.
Fiona Spiers, head of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), was the guest speaker and dished out the awards to recognise excellent pupils.
Colin Hartley MBE, chair of governors at the Illingworth school welcomed the hundreds who were packed into the hall for the ceremony.
Headteacher Andrew Fisher led the whole school and guests in the traditional rousing rendition of Jerusalem before the business of handing out awards got started.
A host of gongs were handed out recognising academic achievement but also contributions to school life, to the community and personal achievements.
Deputy mayor of Calderdale Lisa Lambert (Lab, Illingworth and Mixenden) was also in attendance to hand out some of the awards for GCSE and A-Level success last year as well as recognition for Year seven, eight and nine pupils who did not take exams.
