A CARE centre with 35 children has been told by Ofsted to make improvements.
Hopscotch Corner provides before and after school care in Greetland Methodist Church.
The owners were given a formal notice to improve because overall “the quality of provision is inadequate”.
“Children are confident, settled and enjoy their time there,” according to inspectors.
“However a number of legal requirements are not being met which does not effectively promote children’s well-being.”
The correct adult:child ratios are not consistently maintained and two adults are not always present when children are being cared for.
“Documentation is not always available to confirm required suitability checks have been completed.
“Risk assessments are not completed for taking and collecting children from school and the setting does not request written parental consent to seek emergency medical treatment or advice,” said the inspectors.
Sharon Scott, a partner in the business, said all the required improvements have now been made.
