Staff and children at a Brighouse nursery and pre-school are celebrating after being judged outstanding for a third time in ten years.
Toy Box Day Nursery and Pre-School was given the rating by Ofsted after their latest inspection in September.
Inspector Rachel Ayo gavel a glowing report about the nursery based in the grounds of Woodhouse Primary School.
The report said: “Staff create a highly accessible, vibrant and language rich environment. Children have superb opportunities to make choices and manage self-care tasks. They develop excellent levels of confidence and independence, a positive approach to learning and are extremely well prepared for moving on to school.
“Children flourish and make excellent progress, given their starting points. Staff take full account of children’s preferred learning styles, interests and fascinations.
“Consequently, each child’s learning journal is unique and specifically tailored to them.
“Staff’s exemplary role modelling helps children to build strong friendships, behave extremely well and be respectful, kind and helpful to one another. Babies and young children thrive on the warm, consistent and loving relationships they have built with their key person.”
Since opening in 2005, the nursery employs 15 members of childcare staff, including the management team, and has 68 children on their roll.
Manager Anna Yazarlou said: “We are especially delighted to have achieved an outstanding grading this time as the inspection was carried out under the new OFSTED inspection framework which came into practice at the beginning of September this year. The new inspection framework is tougher and more rigorous than before, giving us a huge sense of achievement.”
Proprietor Noreen Raper added: “When Toy Box Day Nursery and Pre-School opened in February 2005 it was the first nursery in Calderdale to be awarded Outstanding by OFSTED.
“We are all very proud that ten years later we are now the only nursery in Calderdale to be awarded Outstanding on three consecutive inspections, giving us 100 per cent record since we opened.
Our aim now is to continue building on our success whilst continuing to provide outstanding childcare and education for every child that attends our nursery.”
