The Elland Carnival which was cancelled earlier this year will finally take place on Saturday,
It was postponed in July due to waterlogging and the late date is to fit in with schools.
Organiser Dave McCorie said schools are heavily involved and following the holidays it was the first available date after a settling-in period in the new term.
The carnival is being held for the first time at Boxhall playing field which is close to the town centre.
Inter-school sports take place from 10.15 am to 11.30 am; the procession leaves Elland C of E School around noon.
During the afternoon there will be several stalls and attractions include birds of prey, dog training, dancing.
There will also be a fairground and several competitions. Admission is free.
