Emergency repairs are being carried out at Copley Primary School after a deteriotation in the structure of the floors.
Calderdale Council’s Head of Commissioning and Partnerships, Judith Wyllie, said: “Council officers visited the school and found that the defective floors needed to be repaired sooner than previously thought. Temporary floors are being installed now to ensure the school can continue to operate safely.
“The school has put in place a number of measures to ensure that lessons can continue with as little disruption as possible, and has made alternative arrangements for the Christmas shows that were planned in the main hall.”
Head teacher Nan Oldfield said the school has managed to get through the problems thanks to the support of parents, her wonderful staff and the amazing pupils at the school.
