Similar actions are taking place across the country including Halifax, where members of Extinction Rebellion Halifax will deliver their letter to Holly Lynch MP.

"We are facing a crisis that is set to be far more deadly than Covid-19. It’s already causing chaos across the world," said Alison Bath, a teaching assistant from Hebden Bridge.

"We’ve seen now that it’s possible to take action in the face of a crisis," said Deborah Ehrenberg, an analyst from Sowerby.

The protest, starting at 8.30am from Brighouse train station, is timed to coincide with the publication of the Committee on Climate Change annual report to parliament which is expected to show little progress.
